Robinho: Santos' first offer is believed to have been in the region of £4.8million
Santos are refusing to give up in their attempt to re-sign Robinho despite failing in an initial bid for AC Milan's Brazilian forward.
The former Manchester City player's agent recently rejected suggestions his client was set to return to his homeland in the January transfer window.
But Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro is refusing to give up hope of taking Robinho back to his first professional club having already failed in one offer.
The bid is reported to have been worth €6million (£4.8m) and Ribeiro told Globo Esporte: "We made an official written offer for Robinho. We received a [negative] response from Milan.
"But negotiations continue. They are not over yet."
He added: "I met Milan representatives this week.
"We have been talking every day. It's like a chess game. One piece is moved here, another there. But I still have hope."
