The rest of the Blues squad is available to manager Stephen Aitken who is looking for his men to up their game against the Wasps.

Aitken said: "We know Alloa well as we came up from the Third Division together but our recent results against them have been disappointing.

"It would be good to get a win as one is overdue. To do that we need to raise our level of performance as they are a top side.

"Our home form in the league has been decent so we can build on that to try and get the three points."

Second-placed Alloa travel with Darryl Meggat and Eddie Ferns added to the squad that inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Queen of the South in midweek.

Captain Darren Young is struggling with a groin problem and Recreation Park boss Paul Hartley may look to freshen things up, even though his Wasps played exceptionally well to defeat the Doonhamers 1-0.

Hartley explained: "We were not expected to beat Queen of the South but now that we have there is an expectation that we will beat Stranraer.

"The players have to handle that and that has made this game the more difficult fixture of the two.

"If we play like we can we will do well but we cannot just turn up and expect to win."
