Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc has made it clear that the Bundesliga champion is keen to hold on to Neven Subotic and has opened talks over a contract extension.
The Serbia international's current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2014, but BVB has offered the center back a two-year extension until 2016 as the club aims to keep Subotic at the Signal Iduna Park.
"We have held talks with Neven, and it is our intention to extend his stay at Dortmund," Zorc told Bild.
Subotic, 24, joined Borussia Dortmund from Mainz in the summer of 2008, and has since developed into an undisputed key player with the German champion.
The defender has made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for BVB, winning two Bundesliga titles and a DFB Pokal during his four years at the club.
