The Canaries coach believes a good result in the Capital One Cup will help his side carry on their momentum and hopes they can stay in the competition until the end
Norwich manager Chris Hughton is optimistic that his side can continue their impressive form in their Capital One Cup with a strong performance against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
The Canaries will welcome back former manager Phil Lambert as they look to defeat the Villans and progress to the next stage of the competition, and the former Newcastle boss believes it's important for the team to keep their current momentum going.
Hughton's side are currently on a 10 match unbeaten streak, and the coach plans to keep moral high and the run going with a good result against Villa.
"It's an important trophy for us and it also keeps the momentum going," Hughton told reporters.
"When you're on a run you don't want the run to finish, and we've used this competition very well in the games that we've played, and we hope we can take that into tomorrow's game.
"We're at home, and Villa are also in good form. They're a young, very energetic team, and we've seen the energy they put into games.
"We played well at their place and perhaps should have got a better result. They have good players and options, but we're in good form at the moment, and if we can play with the confidence we have done in this run then we will give ourselves a good chance."
