Dempsey scores in Tottenham loss to Howard and Everton

Clint Dempsey scored his third goal of the season on Sunday when his shot from outside the box deflected and dipped past USA teammate Tim Howard and into the Everton goal.
The goal gave Tottenham a 1-0 lead at the time, and until very late on looked as though it might prove to be the winner. Everton had other plans, though. Two goals in the space of two minutes from former Tottenham winger Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic turned the game on its head in stoppage time and gave Howard's Toffees a win that jumped the club into the top four of the English table.
Dempsey and Spurs are level on points with Everton despite the loss, but trail in the table on goal difference after having their three-game winning streak snapped
