Ferguson: Victory will be our best ever

ALEX FERGUSON insists beating Manchester City on Sunday would be one of his greatest all-time results.
Ferguson knows it would put United six points clear of their rivals — and end City’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
The United boss, 70, is still reeling from his team’s shocking defending in the 4-3 win at Reading last weekend.
He said: “If we win, it will be one of our best-ever results.
“They are a really good, powerful team with massive players.
“If we defend like we did at Reading we will be in trouble.
“The important thing is to take lessons from the mistakes — we need to find a solution.”
Fergie refuses to believe the title will be won by either United or City.
He said: “At this time in the season you cannot really say it’s a two-horse race.
“If you think back we were 12 points behind Chelsea at one point and when Arsenal beat us in the League in 1998 we were 11 points clear.”
Ferguson has won 19 of his previous 37 league clashes with City since taking over at Old Trafford in 1986.
He has won four times in the Premier League at the Etihad, where Sunday’s game is being staged.
