Wesley Sneijder: Uncertain future and has been linked with a January transfer
Inter Milan have confirmed Wesley Sneijder will not play for the club again until a decision is made on potential changes to his contract.
The Dutchman's current deal expires in 2015 but reports have suggested he could be sold in January and he has been linked with many of Europe's top clubs over recent years.
Speculation regarding Sneijder's future has increased after Inter hit good form during the 28-year-old's injury-enforced absence since the end of September.
And the fact Inter are in no rush to return the playmaker to their playing side while he considers a reduced contract offer is an indication he may not be part of their future plans.
Inter sporting manager Marco Branca told Inter's official website: "The situation with Wes, who is part of the history of this club and a player we all care about, is that we've been discussing a possible - and for us necessary - adjustment to his contract for a while.
"We want to give the player and his entourage all the time they need to consider the terms of our proposal carefully, so the coach and the club have decided not to use the player in this period until things are clearer."
