CARLOS TEVEZ has welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester — by telling him he is not the best player in the world.

The former Old Trafford pals go head-to-head tonight as City take on Real Madrid at the Etihad.

And while Tevez is well aware of the danger posed by the Portuguese flier, he maintains his Argentine friend Lionel Messi, 25, is the No 1 on the planet.

Ronaldo had a glittering six-year stay with United and has stepped up another level with his amazing goal-scoring exploits since moving to the Bernabeu nearly 3½ years ago.

But Tevez said: “I think it is only right if Cristiano does believe he is the best in the world. Any guy who gets 37-40 goals a season has a right to believe that.

“Anyone who can do that is going to be one of the best — no doubt. But if you push me I am always going to go on the side of Messi.”
