Xolos looking to reach Liga MX final

After eliminating Monterrey from the Liguilla MX over the weekend, Tijuana Coach Antonio Mohamed says that Xolos still have more to give on the road the Apertura championship.
“This team can still give a little more. You’ll see it on the field, we have plenty of motivation,” the coach said in his post game declarations, after 1-1 tie in Tijuana sent the local team through to the semifinals for the first time. “We close at home in front of our people.”
Tijuana features several American players, including former U.S. U-20 fullback Greg Garza, who scored in the first leg of the tie with Monterrey.
The upstart Xolos now face Club Leon, another surprise team that has helped turn Liga MX on its head this season. Leon was the only team to beat Tijuana during the regular season, winning 4-0 at home.
“This is our chance to face them down again, the only team that beat us,” Mohamed said. “Anyone who watched that game knows that wasn’t really the result, and they know it too. In the first half hour we had three one on ones that we didn’t convert.”
The first leg of the semifinal will be played Wednesday or Thursday in Camp Nou in Leon, with the return leg scheduled for the weekend in Tijuana.
