Real Sociedad vs Rayo Vallecano preview - Montanier issues Sociedad warning

Real Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier has urged his side not to let last weekend's surprise victory at high-flying Malaga go to waste by slipping up again in front of their own fans on Monday night against Rayo Vallecano.
Sociedad ended a run of four defeats in five league and cup matches with their 2-1 triumph over Champions League participants Malaga at La Rosaleda, but Montanier knows they cannot content themselves with just that unexpected triumph.
"It was a very important win but it's not enough," said Montanier, whose side are still only three points above the relegation zone heading into Monday's clash.
"We need to get consecutive good results. We still haven't achieved anything. We need to maintain this same line, attitude and effort."
Sociedad's Anoeta Stadium had looked like being a fortress this season as they won their opening three matches there, but in their last two home outings they have been beaten by both Atletico Madrid and Espanyol.
Montanier is hoping for better against Rayo, saying: "They are a difficult opponent, but we want to break this poor run of results at home. I expect a lot from this game.
"In the last two matches at the Anoeta we haven't scored but we've had chances and that's very important. I'm looking for a good attitude from the players."
Rayo head north looking for a third successive Primera Division win and a three-point haul would see them join stuttering Malaga on 19 points.
Coach Paco Jemez is not expecting an easy night though, highlighting the threat that Sociedad have in the final third.
He said: "When you look at Real, you really notice the speed they have in midfield and up front. If you combine that with the quality they have, they have a very potent weapon to cause you damage and we have be very careful."
