Footie ace Marvin Sordell hit by online race hate

SOCCER star Marvin Sordell has reported a racist internet troll to the police — a day after a teenage fan was banned for verbally abusing him.

The black Bolton striker, 21, complained that he and fellow players were racially taunted at Millwall last month.

A 13-year-old boy was banned by Millwall but Marvin was then targeted by a series of racist posts on Twitter from the username @sharialawfan.

One called the player, who represented Team GB at the Olympics, “pathetic”. It accused him of being gay and added: “Tattling on a 13-year-old — really you cannot set the bar any lower.”

Sordell replied: “Racism and homophobia all in one tweet. Well done. Does that make you feel important or big?”

He vowed to pass the messages to police.
