But the Blues veteran didn't seem to mind his wife's fashion gaffe, grinning broadly as the pair climbed into a car to head home.
Terry is certainly making the most of his time out from the game after receiving a four-match ban for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand last season.
Earlier in the evening, he and his wife had enjoyed a lengthy dinner at a restaurant in London's upmarket Mayfair.
And while the rest of the squad would have been tucked up ahead of today's high-stakes clash with Manchester United, it was 4am by the time the Terrys called it a night.
