Dempsey and Boyd strike in wins for Tottenham and Rapid Vienna

Clint Dempsey netted a game-winning goal for Tottenham, and Terrence Boyd found the net in a comfortable win for Rapid Vienna in an eventful Sunday for American forwards in Europe.
Dempsey's goal, which at the time put Spurs up 2-0 over Southampton, proved to be the winner after the home side grabbed a goal in the second half. The American did well to hold off a defender and bundle home his second of the year after Southampton's defense failed to clear a Jermain Defoe effort.
Boyd continued his hot streak with new club Rapid Vienna, scoring his eighth goal of the season in 18 games across all competitions, as his club took a comfortable 2-0 win over Salzburg. The youngster netted just after the break to give his team its second goal of the night and then picked up a yellow card later in the half for good measure.
Another American forward had a notable showing on Sunday as well, as Jozy Altidore returned to AZ Alkmaar's starting lineup after serving his one-game suspension for receiving a red card in the club's last match prior to the international break.
