Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm is set to spend up to eight weeks on the sidelines after rupturing his adductor muscle, the club has confirmed.
The Dutchman had to be stretchered off the field against Manchester City on Saturday after injuring himself in the unsuccessful act of diving to save the 25-yard Carlos Tevez strike that was decisive in the 1-0 City victory. Gerhard Tremmel, the 33-year-old German who replaced Vorm at the Etihad, is expected to step into the starting role while Vorm recovers.
“Michel has a partial rupture of his adductor muscle. He are looking at six to eight weeks out," Swansea medic Kate Rees said.
The injury means Vorm could miss games against Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.
