You’ll never kick out racism

RACISM will never be kicked out of football.

That was the damning verdict of QPR boss Mark Hughes after several of his players refused to wear Kick It Out T-shirts before yesterday’s Premier League clash with Everton.

Hughes said: “You’ll never totally get rid of racism in football.

“There’ll always be some idiot who feels it is something he wants to do.

“And when you have that it’s very, very difficult to stamp out.”

Several QPR and Everton players boycotted the shirts — over the organisation’s lack of clout — just 24 hours after Rio Ferdinand and Joleon Lescott did the same thing.
