Fergie: Terry should move on

ALEX FERGUSON says John Terry got off lightly for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez was given an eight-match ban for the same offence against Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra last season.

And Old Trafford chief Fergie said: “In the case of Terry, it has been so long in respect of the actual incident.

“The fact he got a four-match ban, he may find that is quite lenient considering Suarez got eight.

“It has taken a long time for the FA to get there and there’s a danger of it resurrecting itself.”

Chelsea captain Terry was found guilty by the FA, despite being found not guilty in a court of the charge following a verbal clash with Ferdinand in the game with QPR last October.

Terry received half of Suarez’s ban but his £220,000 fine was almost six times that of the striker’s £40,000 hit.
