Stramaccioni happy with tactical solution

Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni believes he may have finally struck upon the right formula after seeing his side battle to a victory over Chievo.

Inter were beaten 2-0 at home by rock-bottom Siena on Sunday but they were celebrating a fifth successive away win in all competitions on Wednesday night as goals from Alvaro Pereira and Antonio Cassano earned them a 2-0 triumph at Chievo.

The victory lifted Inter into the top four of Serie A, four points behind joint leaders Juventus and Napoli, and left Stramaccioni feeling he has something they can now build on.

"For us it was important to come back and win after the defeat on Sunday, and I think that in general, over the 90 minutes, Inter deserved to win," he told Sky Sport Italia.

Regarding the new formation he employed, Stramaccioni said: "I think this could be the foundation on which to work. It's the best way to get the most out of the players I have available.

"A mixture of strength which, at the same time, allows us to be dangerous up front without losing our balance.

"I had asked the boys to have a little more courage in getting into the box. I think this is the way to cover the pitch better and my way of exploiting the weapons at my disposal."

Stramaccioni, whose side have also lost at home to Roma this season and been held to San Siro draws by Rubin Kazan and Vaslui in the Europa League, is not getting carried away with the win though.

He said: "I don't get down in difficult times, but then after an important win we also have to get ready for the next game.

"We still have a lot of work to do. We've suffered most at the start of matches, and with little training under our belts we've been searching to find the right measures."
