Ban ... Santos drove at 145mph
ARSENAL star Andre Santos has been banned from driving after speeding away from police at 145mph in a sports car.
The defender was handed a one-year ban and ordered to pay £3,600 in fines and costs for the high-speed drive in rush-hour traffic.
A court heard Santos, 29, failed to stop as he was pursued by police and wove between lanes on a busy motorway on the morning of August 17.
The Premier League star evaded cops as he shot away in his black Maserati on the A1 and M25 in Hertfordshire.
He was eventually pulled over and arrested close to Arsenal’s training ground.
The Brazilian international, originally from Sao Paulo, appeared at Hendon Magistrates' Court, north west London.
Santos, of Church Mount, Barnet, who has several high-powered motors plus a tiny Smart Car for shopping, pleaded guilty driving without due care and attention.
The defender was bought for £5.5 million from Turkish side Fenerbahce last year.
