Newcastle in three-way battle for Ivory Coast hitman

Newcastle are locked in a three-way battle with Italian giants Napoli and Lazio to sign Seydou Doumbia - and they could be forced to fork out £16m to land the Ivory Coast hitman.
Doumbia, who plies his trade with Russian club CSKA Moscow, first came to prominence with Swiss side Young Boys, for whom he scored 57 goals in two seasons.
His scintillating form in Switzerland led to a Russian move, and he has continued his remarkable goalscoring exploits in Moscow - he notched 26 goals last term.
The forward, who has been capped 10 times by the Ivory Coast, has been watched by Newcastle scouts during CSKA's last three games.
And with uncertainty continuing to surround the future of current Magpies striker Demba Ba, Newcastle could launch a bid for Doumbia when the transfer window reopens in January.
