Andrea Stramaccioni has expressed his delight with Inter's 2-0 victory at Chievo and picked out the performance of Antonio Cassano as a particular highlight.

Having suffered a shock loss at the Giuseppe Meazza to basement boys Siena at the weekend, the young coach was pleased with his side's response to the defeat, and feels that he has now struck the right balance in his starting line-up.

"It was important for us to win after a tough loss last Sunday. In terms of the 90 minutes we deserved the game from my point of view," he told reporters after the game.

"I think this setup is the best to get the maximum of what I have at my disposal, a mix of stability and strength. We started finding the right balance and showed that we can express ourselves best with this formation."

Summer signings Alvaro Pereira and Cassano were the match-winners on the night, and Stramaccioni was quick to praise the forward in particular, following his third goal of the season.

"I want to thank Cassano," he added. "I want to thank all the players because they showed attitude, character and stability. Cassano is proving his worth on the field and this is why we got him."

The Italy international also expressed his gratitude for his boss and explained how he has settled into life with the Nerazzurri well.

"Stramaccioni expressed the desire to want me at Inter," he remarked "Here I feel wanted and happy. They have made me feel at home."

Left-back Pereira was also thrilled to have scored his first goal for Inter against the Flying Donkeys: "My goal is dedicated to the team. Little by little, we are playing better."

Inter lay in fourth position in the Serie A table, winning all three of their away matches despite not registering a point at home. They will be looking to change that when they host Fiorentina on Sunday.
