David Beckham returns to full training for Los Angeles but weekend status uncertain

Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham returned to practice on Tuesday, marking the first time the player has seen action since spraining his ankle in an early September match.
“David is back in training, yes,” Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena confirmed to reporters. “Good to see him back on the field, yep. ... Day-to-day is the plan.”
It is uncertain whether or not Beckham is ready to play against the Colorado Rapids this weekend. The 36-year-old midfielder participated in a small sided scrimmage with his teammates and ran sprints according to the Galaxy. When pressed, Arena maintained that Beckham's status remains "day-to-day."
Beckham has quietly had arguably his best year statisically in MLS. The former England captain has seven goals and nine assists in 21 appearances this season.
Despite his absence, Los Angeles has continued to turn around its season from a poor start. The Galaxy sit second in the Western Conference and Beckham's teammates hope that his return will only boost that success.
“Can only help, right?” Mike Magee told reporters. “Getting David Beckham back? I don't think that hurts you at all. Obviously, we always miss him on the field, but we've taken care of business while he's been gone, and the team's getting better.”
