Inter out to lure Sagna

Inter Milan are considering a move for Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims the Serie A outfit will make an approach for Sagna if the defender fails to agree a new contract with the Gunners.

The UK publication reported that Inter "will pounce if there is any chance of luring Sagna away" following a summer of discontent for the 29-year-old at the Emirates.

Sagna had publicly voiced his concerns in a French newspaper interview following the sales of captain Robin van Persie and midfielder Alex Song. He also expressed a desire to win trophies like former team-mates Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri, who have both enjoyed success at Manchester City.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently expressed his hope that Sagna would pen an extension on his current deal which expires in the summer of 2013 - but warned any club employee must always "defend the company he works for".

"I had a chat with Sagna about it. I think he loves the club and will stay here,"
Wenger said.

"I believe any player or any employee always had to defend the company he works for - and if he is not completely happy with it then he has to go somewhere else.

"That is basically what I think, and that is what I say to everybody."

Sagna signed from Auxerre in 2007 is close to returning from a broken leg suffered at the end of last season.
