Genoa vs Parma preview - Borriello happy to keep low profile

Matchwinner Marco Borriello was eager to keep a low profile ahead of Genoa's midweek Serie A meeting with Parma.

The on-loan Roma striker demonstrated why coach Luigi De Canio was eager to bring him back to Liguria after four years away as he beat Federico Marchetti to put paid to Lazio's 100% record.

The only goal at the Stadio Olimpico moved Genoa up to eighth in the league table with a second victory of the season but Borriello was keen to deflect the plaudits on to his team-mates.

Coyly turning down repeated requests for interview, he told genoacfc.it: "Thanks for all the interest but I'd rather you spoke to my colleagues.

"At the moment I want to concentrate exclusively on doing well out on the pitch. (The group) is improving and we're becoming a good team."

De Canio is likely to rotate his squad in a bid to maintain progress on an upward curve, with Cesare Bovo and Luca Antonelli coming into the defence for Andreas Granqvist and Emiliano Moretti.

Felipe Seymour and Bosko Jankovic should join Jan Kucka in a three-man midfield with Ciro Immobile continuing to complement Borriello up front, the pair supported by Andrea Bertolacci.

Parma took heart from salvaging a point from a topsy-turvy home draw with Fiorentina but they needed Jaime Valdes, who had already missed one spot-kick, to score a last-gasp penalty following Aleandro Rosi's dismissal.

The Crociati are seeking their first away points of the campaign and Brazilian striker Amauri feels ready to contribute after injury problems restricted him to just 30 minutes of play so far.

He told fcparma.com: "I feel good and I hope I don't get injured again.

"I spent all summer working hard so it was a shame that right at the end I picked up another niggling problem.

"Even though I haven't played, I've worked hard over the last three weeks and it was great to return to the pitch and enjoy the experience."

Raffaele Palladino will not feature at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris after the winger was withdrawn injured just four minutes into a substitute appearance against La Viola.

He will miss at least three weeks with damage to his left thigh and adductor muscle, with Amauri adding: "I'm sorry about Palladino - I hope he comes back soon because we need him.

"If (Ishak) Belfodil could be more clinical in front of goal, we could be talking about him for years to come.

"(Dorlan) Pabon is still getting to know Serie A. On Saturday, though, he played well and showed he understands what the coach has asked of him.

"(Sotiris) Ninis also has great desire to succeed."
