Alloa comfortably beat 10-man Stranraer to move up to fourth in Division Two.

Kevin Cawley gave the home side the lead in the 21st minute as he collected Graeme Holmes' cross on the left-side of the penalty area and fired across David Mitchell for his fourth goal of the season.

Stranraer were reduced to 10 men as the first half neared its conclusion after Mitchell was dismissed for bringing down Stephen Simmons in the area as the midfielder attempted to add a second.

Replacement goalkeeper Russell Cadwell failed to save the resulting spot-kick, which was dispatched into his bottom left corner by Martin Grehan.

Holmes rounded off the scoring in the 90th minute as his low effort from the edge of the area beat Cadwell down to his right.
