Granada CF 1 : 1 Deportivo La Coruna - Flores ensures shared spoils

Granada's winless start to the season continued as Floro Flores' goal 10 minutes from time could only salvage a 1-1 draw against Deportivo at Nuevo Los Carmenes.

However, it could have been so much worse for the home side, who went behind when Nelson Oliveira struck just before half-time and could have conceded again when the same player hit the crossbar just after the break.

Replays later suggested the ball may have crossed the line.

As it was Granada recovered and eventually found a way through Depor's stubborn resistance when Jaime Romero crossed for Flores to slide home his first goal since joining on loan from Udinese.

The draw extends Depor's unbeaten start to the campaign to four games, but they will be disappointed at only taking a point from a game in which they enjoyed the majority of the chances.

There was little in the way of goalmouth early on, Granada's best move ending with a dangerous Allan Nyom cross going to waste, while Pizzi was denied by Tono at the other end.

However, the complexion of the game changed just before half-time when Riki had to be replaced after breaking his nose in a challenge with Diego Mainz.

Oliveira came on and scored with virtually his first touch. Mainz left his backpass to the keeper short and Oliveira nipped in to slot home his second goal of the season.

The hosts responded positively after the break and had two half chances to equalise. First Gabriel Torje spooned his shot over then Flores headed wide when unmarked at Fabian Orellana's corner.

However, the most controversial moment in the match came after 48 minutes when Oliveira broke clear once more and fired a thunderous shot off the underside of the crossbar which, upon replays, appeared to cross the line.

Yet such was the power of the shot, it was almost impossible to tell in real time and there were few complaints from the Depor players when the referee played on without allowing the goal.

The visitors could only have themselves to blame late on though as both Pizzi and Oliveira had clear chances to seal all three points only for Tono to stand in their way.

And they were to rue those misses as Granada found an equaliser on 80 minutes.

Substitute Romero's persistence down the left paid off as his low cross was well controlled and then calmly finished by Flores.

Romero might even have won the game for Granada when he blazed over when unmarked inside the area from Torje's corner two minutes from time.
