Second-half goals from Darren Smith and Brown Ferguson helped Stenhousemuir to a 2-0 win at Alloa, only the Warriors' second league victory of the season.

Smith gave the visitors the lead on 67 minutes, and the points were secured in injury-time as Ferguson slotted home a penalty.

Neither team managed to create a clear-cut chance in the first half, with Ross McCord's blocked free-kick for the hosts representing the best opportunity.

After the restart Daryll Meggatt tested Callum Reidford in the Stenhousemuir goal, but the opening goal was to come at the opposite end.

Andy Rodgers found Smith, who showed his gratitude by sending the ball into the far corner of the goal from the edge of the box.

His goal would have been enough for victory but Ferguson blasted in from the penalty spot just seconds from time to make sure.
