Barcelona's Pedro wary of Getafe threat

The Blaugrana attacker believes his side's visit to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez will be a difficult one and also lamented the loss of injury to key players such as Andres Iniesta

Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez has warned his team's trip to Getafe this weekend could be tricky.

The Madrid-based outfit have already claimed the scalp of Real Madrid while last season they toppled the Catalans by a goal to nil.

The Spain international is under no illusion that taking all three points will not be easy and his team will have to be at their best to continue their perfect start to the campaign.

“We have to recover well [from the international break] and prepare well for the game because it will be difficult, we want to emerge victorious from Getafe,” Pedro was quoted by Sport.

“I don’t know about the dimensions, but it is a smaller field. Either way, they are a very good team and their crowd is very good.
“Theirs is like Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao’s in being a difficult stadium to visit. We know as we have played there a lot.”

Tito Vilanova's side will be without Andres Iniesta and Alexis Sanchez - who pulled out on Thursday - and Pedro regrets the loss of the influential midfielder.

“Andres’ injury is a major blow," he added.

"He is important for the team. The truth is that after being with the national team, the cost of travelling, playing and resting are not ideal, but we’re trying to recover well so as to be in maximum condition this weekend."

Pedro has enjoyed a stellar start to the new season scoring two goals for Barcelona while also impressing for Spain last week in a friendly against Saudi Arabia.

“I’m training well and I’m working hard," he continued.

"Maybe now I am having better luck in front of goal. I’ve had confidence and fortune in the opening games. I’m doing well and I hope to continue along this path.”

The 25-year-old was then questioned as to whether he was content with his team's 5-point lead over Real Madrid ahead of the Clasico to be played in Round 7.
“We’d like to get a good lead to go into that game but we have a lot of work starting with Getafe. It’s a tough game that we will have to have an answer to.

“We want to go into the next games with Granada and Sevilla with the best possible options available. I do not know if five points will be critical, but time will tell what the advantage does."
