Manchester United face a fight if they want to press ahead with a move for rookie striker Domenico Berardi - Juventus, Roma and Lazio have all entered the running.
Berardi has caught the eye for his club Sassuolo this season and they are currently top of Serie B with maximum points from their first three games.
The Italy Under-19 striker, who turned 18 earlier this summer, is seen as the club's brightest prospect in years and Sir Alex Ferguson is watching him closely.
Scouts are due to track Berardi throughout the season but United now face competition from Serie A trio Juve, Roma and Lazio.
The Italian heavyweights have also been alerted to Berardi and believe if Sassuolo sell, the rookie striker would fancy staying in Italy.
