Nicklas Bendtner, right, will spend a second successive season on loan, but Arsène Wenger does not want to sell him.
Arsène Wenger has indicated that he sees a future for Nicklas Bendtner at Arsenal despite sending the striker on loan for a second successive season.
Bendtner joined the Italian champions Juventus last month and will stay with them for the entire 2012-13 campaign, having spent the 2011-12 season with Sunderland in the Premier League.
The Denmark international made no secret of his desire to leave the Emirates when he returned in pre-season, but ultimately he sealed only another temporary switch away from Arsenal.
Wenger, speaking at the Uefa elite club coaches forum in Switzerland, believes the 24-year-old has what it takes to succeed at the highest level, and that could still be at Arsenal, despite Bendtner failing to claim a regular first-team place at the Emirates.
"It is not for nothing that I loaned him to Juventus. He is a talented player. There he will grow and then return to my team,' the Arsenal manager told the Italian paper, Tuttosport.
"I am convinced that at a team like Juventus, in a very difficult league, especially for strikers, he can make the final leap in quality.
"Don't forget, he is a boy of 24 years. The right age to prove who he is. The talent is not missing, otherwise I would not have bought him from Copenhagen when he was just 16 years old."
"We believe in him and that is why we only gave him to Juventus on loan," said Wenger. "We have not sold him, only loaned him, and next year we will bring him home. I think he can resolve his problems with us and prove himself.
