New AC Milan signing Nigel de Jong says he is ready to give "100 percent" to the Rossoneri after finalising his transfer from Manchester City on Friday.
The Dutch midfielder signed a three-year contract with the club to cap a productive week for the Milan side which had earlier wrapped up a deal for Roma striker Bojan Krkic on a season long loan.
"For me, Milan has always been a really big club, the most decorated in the world," De Jong told the club's website.
"Dutch players have always have a big impact here and I'll be giving 100% for this team".
However, De Jong will have to be patient for his chance to impress his new team-mates and fans as manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed that the midfielder will start on the bench for Saturday's Serie A match at Bologna.
"With the players I have now, I have the chance to make various changes in the games that we'll be in," he said.
"We have the players to play a back three, but more than the formation, what counts is the willingness of the players and luckily, I have lots of that. De Jong will come with us and he'll be on the bench and he'll play if need be."
De Jong has been given the number 34 shirt at Milan.
He made 137 appearances for City during his three and a half years with the club.
