Maicon: A player Roberto Mancini knows well from his time at Inter Milan
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini claims to hold no interest in Maicon, a man he knows well from his time at Inter Milan.
The buccaneering Brazilian full-back often finds himself at the centre of transfer speculation as each window passes.
He has been strongly linked with a switch to Real Madrid in the past, with another former Inter boss in the form of Jose Mourinho said to be keen on acquiring his services.
No deal has been put in place, though, and Maicon remains in Italy.
No interest
It was suggested that City could make a move before deadline day, with Mancini making no secret of his desire to bring fresh faces into a squad which secured the Premier League title last season.
The Italian has, however, rubbished reports claiming that an offer is being readied by those at the Etihad Stadium.
Mancini said: "I don't know. I bought Maicon when he was at Inter, but now he is an Inter player.
"No (interest), not at the moment."
