Dunfermline vs Partick preview - Wallace blow for Pars
Posted Saturday, August 18, 2012 by PA
Dunfermline will be without striker Ryan Wallace through a hamstring injury when they host Partick in what will be a test of both sides' promotion credentials.
Recently-signed Moroccan full-back Fassyal El Backhtaoui misses out with a thigh strain for a game where East End Park boss Jim Jefferies reckons something will have to give.
Jefferies said: "They are undefeated this season and will want keep hold of that record and we want to end it so someone is going to end up disappointed. We have players that can hurt them and we are going with confidence after beating Cowdenbeath 4-0.
"This will be a tough test but we are at home and will be looking to win it."
Partick look certain to welcome back the experienced trio of goalkeeper Scott Fox, captain Alan Archibald and former St Mirren midfielder Hugh Murray.
All three missed out on the 5-4 win over Queen's Park in the Ramsdens Cup in midweek.
Sean Welsh will miss out as his eye has remained closed since he got a boot on the face at Hampden on Tuesday and David Rowson continues to be absent through a back injury.
Firhill manager Jackie McNamara said: "This will be a real test for us early in the season as Dunfermline is always a hard place to do to. They will be confident after a good result last Saturday but I want us to win and keep our momentum going."
