Fenerbahce have denied making a bid for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder following newspaper reports in Turkey.
The front page of Wednesday's Aksam reported that the Dutch playmaker was on his way to the Sukru Saracoglu.
But the Super Lig runners-up subsequently released an official statement, which denied any formal approach for the 28-year-old Holland international.
Quoted on Tuttosport, the statement read: "In relation to what appeared in Aksam, we must point out it is not completely true that Fenerbahce are interested in Sneijder.
"Recent reports that have appeared in newspapers such as Aksam have been false.
"Every new signing will be announced through the club's official channels."
Sneijder, who signed a five-year contract extension with the Nerazzurri in 2010, was named Oranje captain for Wednesday's friendly international against Belgium by new coach Louis van Gaal.
