Scott Parker: Set to be out until mid-September following surgery
Tottenham have revealed that Scott Parker is expected to return to training after the international break in September after undergoing successful Achilles surgery.
Parker has struggled with an Achilles tendon injury since the end of last season but was able to play at Euro 2012 as part of the England squad that reached the quarter-finals.
He did not travel to the United States with the rest of the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour as the club's medical staff assessed whether to send him for an operation.
It has now been confirmed that Parker has gone under the knife and will miss the start of the new campaign.
Andre Villas-Boas' men kick off their Premier League season against Newcastle on 18th August before facing games against West Brom and Norwich.
Domestic matters then take a back seat to international football, but Parker will not be involved in England's opening World Cup qualifiers against Moldova on 7th September and Ukraine four days later.
Parker is then set to come back to training in the middle of September and build up to a return to the Tottenham first team.
