Spain international Jordi Alba could make his first appearance for Barcelona in the pre-season friendly against Manchester United on August 8, the Catalan club have announced.
The 23-year-old, who signed for the clubs in June in a €14 million deal, has not yet had the chance to feature for the Blaugrana after joining his country's Olympic squad.
Alba flew into Barcelona on Thursday afternoon following La Roja's early exit in London, and the Spanish club have confirmed that the ex-Valencia defender will be allowed to rest in the next five days, returning to duty on August 8, when the squad fly out to Gothenburg to take on the Red Devils.
Martin Montoya and Cristian Tello were also part of Spain's Olympic squad, but they are to report for duty on Friday.
Meanwhile, Barca have announced that Adriano suffered a sprained ankle in Thursday's session and that the Brazilian defender is in doubt for the club's friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
