Former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert will be one of new coach Louis van Gaal's assistants, the Dutch football federation (KNVB) announced on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old, who remains the most prolific Dutch striker with 40 goals, will work alongside former defender Danny Blind and combine his international duties with his youth team functions at Enschede outfit FC Twente.
Kluivert ended his football career in 2008 at French side Lille after spells at Ajax (1994-1997), AC Milan (1997-1998), Barcelona (1998-2004), Newcastle United (2004-2005), Valencia (2005-2006) and PSV Eindhoven (2006-2007).
Van Gaal officially began his job on Wednesday, taking over from Bert van Marwijk, who resigned after the beaten 2010 World Cup finalists' disastrous Euro 2012 campaign, which saw them crash out at the group stage without winning a match.
