GB edge to quarters; Spain crash out

Scott Sinclair and Daniel Sturridge gave Great Britain's their first Olympic win since 1960 with a 3-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates.
After Ryan Giggs had become the oldest goalscorer in Olympic history, GB required a rather more youthful duo to drag them out of a hole after Rashed Eisa had equalised for UAE.
Sinclair scored with his first touch, although it is perhaps Sturridge who has more chance of featuring in next month's squad for the friendly against Italy in Berne, especially if he impressed Hodgson with his superb chip 14 minutes from time.
The result got GB back on track to secure a quarter-final berth, although they will almost certainly need to avoid defeat against Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium on Wednesday to seal their knockout berth.
Striker Jerry Bengtson dumped Spain out of the Olympics as Honduras pulled off a major shock at St James' Park.
The 25-year-old's seventh-minute header, his third goal in two games, ensured that the Spaniards, whose senior team are reigning World and European champions, will go home early following an opening defeat by Group D leaders Japan.
Bengtson got the game off to a sensational start when he climbed high to power Roger Espinoza's driven cross past Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Spain gradually worked their way into the game, with Chelsea's Juan Mata smashing a left-foot volley just wide and then going even closer on the stroke of half-time.
Athletic Bilbao midfielder Muniain blasted just wide and then rattled the foot of the post after another enterprising run, but it took a flying save from keeper Jose Mendoza to keep out Rodrigo's 72nd-minute header, and the striker headed against the bar eight minutes from time.
There was no way back for the Spaniards as Honduras managed to hold on for a precious 1-0 victory.
Ten-man Senegal blew Group A wide open with a shock win over highly-fancied Uruguay at Wembley.
Impressive teenager Moussa Konate scored twice, either side of Abdoulaye Ba's first-half dismissal.
As Ba had already been booked, he could have few complaints even if Suarez was heading away from goal when he cynically chopped him down and his expulsion was confirmed by a straight red card.
Kanote, said to be a target for West Ham, showed lightening reactions to prod home after Martin Campana had parried Cheikhou Kouyate's header into his path.
Senegal were able to double their advantage when Konate steered home Sadio Mane's corner with a deft header.
Kim Bo-kyung was South Korea's hero with a second-half winner as they beat Switzerland in their Group B encounter at the City of Coventry Stadium.
Kim, who recently moved from Cerezo Osaka to Championship club Cardiff, volleyed home a deflected cross to move Korea level on four points with group leaders Mexico.
Arsenal's Park Chu-young had opened the scoring for Korea but Switzerland replied instantly through Innocent Emeghara only for Kim to settle the issue.
Striker Kensuke Nagai fired Japan to the brink of the Olympic quarter-finals with a late winner against Morocco.
The Grampus Eight frontman struck with an instinctive lob six minutes from time to settle a tight Group D encounter.
Amsif was finally beaten six minutes from time when Nagai ran on to a ball over the top and calmly lifted it over him as he advanced to snatch victory.
Neymar underlined his status as one of the hottest prospects in world football by scoring a breathtaking free-kick to fire Brazil to victory against a spirited Belarus at Old Trafford.
This week Barcelona made it clear they want Neymar to join them after the Olympics and it is easy to see why. His dazzling skills wowed all 66,212 spectators throughout this Group C match.
Brazil have now qualified for the last eight with one match to spare, but they were given a stern test by Belarus, who opened the scoring through Renan Bardini Bressan.
Neymar crossed for Alexandre Pato to equalise and also set up Oscar for Brazil's third after his brilliant effort had put them ahead.
Tottenham playmaker Giovani dos Santos was Mexico's hero with both goals in their Olympic Games Group B clash with Gabon at the City of Coventry Stadium.
Giovani, who struggled to earn a place under Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane, was introduced as a second-half substitute and broke the deadlock after 63 minutes.
He then scored from the penalty spot in injury-time after Gabon defender Henri Ndong was sent off for a professional foul.
Egypt's hopes of qualifying for the last eight of the Olympic football tournament took a blow as they drew with New Zealand at Old Trafford after wasting several chances.
Egypt fell behind to a 16th minute strike from West Brom's Chris Wood, but Mohamed Salah equalised from close-range at the end of the first half.
