Anzhi deny bid for Sneijder, Maicon

Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have come out to reject claims that a bid for Inter Milan duo Wesley Sneijder and Maicon had been lodged.
Attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder and right wing-back Maicon have the subject of intense speculation linking them with a move away from Inter Milan and Anzhi had been touted as their most likely destination.
Anzhi have however come out to quash the speculation, claiming that no contact has been made with either players.
A statement released on the club's official website said: "Due to the emergence of numerous rumours in the media that FC Anzhi were in talks for players Douglas Maicon and Wesley Sneijder, please be advised this information is baseless."
"The club has not conducted any negotiations for the transfer of these football players to our team.
"FC Anzhi are quick to confirm signings with the media and fans."
Inter Milan and Anzhi have done business before, with the Italian club having previously sold striker Samuel Eto'o to the Russian club.
