Paolo Cannavaro looking forward to Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus

Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro has declared that he is excited about meeting Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana on August 19.
The Partenopei earned the right to contest the first trophy of the season after defeating the Old Lady 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final, thus becoming the only team to beat the Italian champions in 2011-12.
And Cannavaro says that his side are eager to build on their success in the domestic cup and admitted that he wants to become an iconic figure at San Paolo, where he has been since 2006.
"There is still time for the match against Juventus, we will try to be ready for that encounter," he told Il Mattino. "That is our first goal, we want to win the Supercoppa.
"I want to become what Francesco Totti is for Roma and what Alessandro Del Piero represented for Juve. I feel more support from the fans now, though it is harder to be a symbol in modern football."
Napoli finished fifth in Serie A last season, three points adrift of the Champions League qualification zone, and Cannavaro did not wish to comment on the club's chances of winning the title.
"We certainly have the quality to be at the top, but please, let's not talk about the Scudetto," the 31-year-old noted.
"I am not saying this only because of superstition. We must think about giving our best in every match like we did against Juventus. Then we will see where we will have ended up."
