Richards: Second title will not be easy for Manchester City

Manchester City defender Micah Richards has stated that next season will be a difficult one for the club as it seeks to retain the Premier League title.

Some have suggested that City's first title win since 1968 could herald a new era of dominance for the club with the backing of their billionaire owners, but Richards insists that it still faces a huge challenge at the top.

"I don't think it's going to be easy," Richards told Sky Sports. "People say we're going to go and walk the title but I don't think that's the case.

He added, "I see everyone as big threats really. Obviously Spurs have got a new manager and players will be going there to improve and show people what they can do.

"Manchester United as usual, Chelsea have spent some decent money, so they'll be looking. Arsenal always are about and Liverpool."

Richards, however, is currently focusing on the upcoming Olympic Games as one of three over-23 players selected for Team GB, and has revealed that it is an honor to be representing Great Britain having missed out on a place in England's squad for Euro 2012.

"I don't feel I have a point to prove [after missing out on Euro 2012 for England]," he explained. "I wasn't picked in the squad. I won't dwell on that.

"When I had a chance to come and join Team GB it was an honor for me to do that.

"Obviously players are going to be disappointed not to go to the Euros, but once I got the chance with GB, it's going to be amazing and it's time to show everyone what I can do."
