Tottenham are stepping up their bid to beat Arsenal to the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca says Spurs are willing to pay the £15million get-out clause in his contract and also triple his wages.
Lopez has been heavily linked with Arsenal but the Gunners are only prepared to pay £10million for the 24-year-old.
Andre Villas-Boas, however, rates Lopez highly and Spurs could now outmuscle their London rivals to sign the Spain international, who will feature at the upcoming Olympics in London.
The forward is considered one of the hottest prospects in Spanish football, scoring 19 goals in his debut season with Atletico.
Atletico are determined to keep the player in Madrid, but their financial situation may force them to sell, with Real's city rivals owing a fortune to the Spanish taxman.
