Olsen looks to the future
Morten Olsen: Denmark coach expects a bright future for his side

Denmark coach Morten Olsen has hailed his team after they crashed out of Euro 2012 and backed them to be a force in the future.

The Danes were beaten 2-1 by Germany in their final group game, which saw them finish third in Group B, and fail to qualify for the knockout stages.

Olsen, however, was encouraged by the performances of his team in the competition and with young players of the quality of 20-year-old Ajax starlet Christian Eriksen yet to fully bloom, he is confident they will come again.

"I think we have done a really good job in this tournament," Olsen said. "This team has a future."

Proud

Brondby striker Michael Krohn-Dehli scored twice during the tournament, including a strike against the Germans.

And despite the early exit of the Danes, he insisted they could go home with their heads held high.

"I am very disappointed like the rest of the team but I'm of course proud and I think we had something to offer," he said.

"It was a difficult game and Germany came with a lot of power. They are a good team and it's too bad we couldn't play against them."
