West Ham are hoping to finalise a move for Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen in the next 24 hours.
Sam Allardyce is keen to bring a top quality keeper to Upton Park after West Ham co-owner David Gold confirmed Robert Green would be leaving the club on a free transfer during the summer
after he failed to agree terms on a new deal.
Jaaskelainen, 37, is set to end his 15-year association with Bolton after turning down a new contract and is keen to stay in the Premier League.
The Finnish keeper played under Allardyce at Bolton during his successful spell at the Reebok Stadium and is relishing the chance to work with him once again in east London.
West Ham have already signed Stephen Henderson from Portsmouth during the summer and he will battle Jaaskelainen for the number one spot at Upton Park next season.
