HOLT TO BOLT ... skipper Grant wants to quit Canaries
NORWICH chief David McNally has angrily hit out at claims skipper Grant Holt is quitting for West Ham.
The promoted Hammers have been linked with £4million swoop for the wantaway striker.
But angry Canaries chief executive McNally tweeted yesterday: “Just for the record, we have not received a £4m bid for Grant from West Ham as apparently is being suggested.”
Holt, 31, reaffirmed his desire to leave Carrow Road with Sunderland and Aston Villa — now being bossed by ex-Canaries chief Paul Lambert — also interested.
Holt stunned Norwich last month by requesting a transfer, an appeal which was rejected by the club he joined in 2009. His agent, Lee Payne, claimed they had refused to give him a three-year deal because of his age.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce wants to add a proven striker to his squad following their promotion back to the top flight via the play-offs.
And Holt, who bagged 17 goals last term, fits the bill.
