Clearly fond of the Geordie, he gushed: 'She is an absolute star. She is brilliant.'
And it would seem the feeling is mutual as Cheryl later tweeted: 'Was nice talking to you Tyler.
Good luck for the weekend. I’ll be rooting for you.'
During the show tonight Tyler will be singing Michael Jackson's I'll Be There and Usher's OMG with Will.i.am.
Meanwhile, his mentor has revealed: 'Cheryl thinks Tyler is the favourite to win the show. She has an eye and knows what the next big thing is.'
