AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has issued a hands-off warning to clubs interested in acquiring the services of centre-back Thiago Silva this summer.
The defender has become integral to the Rossoneri cause in recent seasons, but the Serie A outfit’s deteriorating financial position led to speculation linking the much sought-after player to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
However, the vice-president has now revealed that Thiago Silva will not be leaving San Siro anytime soon as he hinted a transfer was out of the question.
Thiago Silva is priceless," Galliani told reporters at the start of a juniors camp.
"I do not understand how people can criticise our economic efforts while we are stuck in a worldwide financial crisis, so people just have to be grateful."
Galliani then gave an update on the futures of midfield duo former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Liverpool-owned Alberto Aquilani.
"We are dealing with Flamini, he turned down our first [contract] offer but he must lower his demands so it also suits us. At this time, the players must demonstrate a strong love for Milan.
"Aquilani has technical attributes and qualities that we like, but now it is up to Liverpool as he remains one of their players."
