Roma general director Franco Baldini says Zdenek Zeman will become the club's new coach in the next few days.
Zeman, who guided Pescara to the Serie B title last season, has been among Roma's top choices to replaces Luis Enrique.
Baldini said on Friday they will close the deal "in the next few days," adding that "there is reasonable optimism, all that's missing is just details, I don't think there will be any surprises."
Enrique quit Roma at the end of the season.
A last-minute winner saw Pescara claim the Serie B title on the last day of the season, on goal difference, after it finished level on points and head-to-head record with Torino.
Zeman's young, attacking team scored 90 goals - 30 more than any other Serie B team.
