Paul McShane: Will have his condition assessed after suffering a bruised heel in training for Ireland
Paul McShane was forced to sit out of the Republic of Ireland's first training session at their pre-Euro 2012 base in Italy because of an injury.
The 26-year-old has been drafted in as defensive cover for Giovanni Trapattoni's lengthy injury list, however was rested because of a bruised heel.
The condition of McShane, who played in Saturday's 1-0 friendly win over Bosnia, will be assessed overnight in the hope that he could return to action on Monday.
Trapattoni's injury concerns will have been eased with the news that Kevin Foley completed full training after shaking off a hamstring injury. Shay Given and John O'Shea are also continuing to make progress.
The Ireland squad flew out from Dublin on Sunday morning with former Doncaster Rovers and Derby midfielder Paul Green, who is still without a club, having replaced Keith Fahey after he aggravated an existing groin problem.
