Liverpool defender Glen Johnson and Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck both missed new England manager Roy Hodgson's first training session today as a precaution.
The Three Lions play the first of two warm-up games ahead of Euro 2012 this Saturday, as they travel to Oslo to face Norway before welcoming Belgium to Wembley on June 2.
Liverpool defender Martin Kelly joined up with the senior squad after having previously been capped at under-21 level for additional cover at right-back, although Johnson is likely to be fit to face Egil Olsen’s side despite sitting out on Wednesday.
The Reds defender was by joined fellow uncapped players John Ruddy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Etihad Stadium.
Forward Welbeck is also likely to be fit to face Norway and he will be vying for a starting place with Andy Carroll and Jermain Defoe, with Wayne Rooney likely to sit out as England look for alternative options for his two-game ban at the start of the tournament.
Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker also took part, despite having been troubled with an Achilles injury during the closing stages of the Premier League season.
Hodgson has to decide Parker's fate before Uefa's deadline on May 29, with Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson likely to deputise should the former be declared unfit.
John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill have been given extra time off after the Chelsea’s dramatic win in Munich and they will not report for duty until next Tuesday when England will be relocated to their Hertfordshire base ahead of the home clash against Belgium.
