With the dust already settling on the magnificent 2011-12 Premier League season, it is time to say goodbye to some familiar faces and look forward to the arrival of some new blood.

But while most of the headlines this summer will be made by the latest multi-million pound superstar to be ushered through the gates at the Etihad Stadium, there's every chance there's a free transfer out there who could even emulate the exploits of Newcastle United striker Demba Ba - snapped up by Alan Pardew for absolutely nothing last year.
